The Puli is active,
intelligent and a fast learner. The shaggy look with long cords
distinguish the Puli from other herding dogs. The coat doesn't
shed and the Puli is therefore an excellent choice for people
with an allergy. The coat is not supposed to be brushed, yet a
bath now and then is vital if you want a clean dog...

The Puli gets
along well with children, as well as with other dogs or animals.
Though one should be aware of the herding instinct since
otherwise it might try to herd children, dogs etc. - therefore
it is important to control this herding instinct from early on.
However the good part is that the Puli wants to be around and
very seldom run away!
When it comes to
strangers the Puli can be shy, and early socialisation is thus
very important if they should adapt to the demands of modern
society. His suspicion does make him a good watchdog.
The Puli is faithful, dependable and loves his family, he hates
to be left alone and prefer an active life. It is a perfect dog
for agility, obedience, rally or dog shows but first of all he
want to be part of every day life in a family that both love and
respect the Puli as the clown it is.
